OUR APPROACH
Whether students need guidance and coaching on identifying personal and relevant essay topics, perfecting their interview skills, organizing the application process, or simply having an attentive ear to voice their fears and concerns, students will be offered direct, constructive, honest counsel, in real time.
Our approach is designed to meet students where they are - whether they have identified detailed and specific college goals they want to reach, or for those who aren't sure where they fit in in the admissions landscape. The collaborative sessions can augment the support a student is receiving from a school-based guidance counselor, or provide real direction and a workable plan for those who feel entirely on their own. No matter what your personal circumstance, our work together will ignite you to take flight and soar.
quick words from Hope ...

I am a first generation college graduate. It was my parents primary goal to “break the cycle” and pave the way for me to have a great education. Their devotion and determination to give me more than they had afforded me unique, invaluable, life experiences, for which I am forever grateful. They instilled in me the value of hard work, formal and informal learning, and leaned hard into the benefit of serving others, of sharing the "wealth". Although they were blue collar workers who struggled most of their lives to “make ends meet,” these two people made it possible for me to attend Columbia University, Bank Street Graduate School of Education; to travel to South Africa to teach and ultimately work with Desmond Tutu at his orphanage in Sub-Saharan Africa, travel to Uganda to teach in villages in Kampala and Masaka; trek to Rwanda to learn about the Hutu and Tutsi tribes after reading Philip Gourevich; perform at the Bertolt Bretch theater in Germany, to name a few.

The fact that I am both an educator and artist, is very relevant to my work as a coach and consultant. If you are looking for someone to offer your student interview "tricks and tips" and to recycle the same stale essay writing advice that has been doled out for years - then you don't want to hire me. I take a dynamic and hands-on approach to our work. I am going to ask your students to dig deep and to tell their stories, and not stories that they think people want to hear. I am going to work with them to find their voice, both on the page when writing - and in their body, so that they are speaking clearly and confidently in the room.
I am eternally grateful for my parents, who sacrificed all that they had (and didn’t have) to give me everything I needed and more. I can’t imagine the “cost” of their efforts.
I appreciate the investment of both money and time that families make when hiring me. It is a true honor and privilege to work closely with my clients and their families to make sure that I am doing all that I can to help each student thrive and reach their greatest potential.
