Hope Salas
In my 20 year career in education, I have taught many subjects to a variety of students, in addition to tutoring students on how to prepare for the SHSAT, PSAT, and SAT exams. But some of the most intense and rewarding teaching experiences I’ve had have been coaching students with crafting their college essays, and preparing for their college (and graduate school) interviews.
I received my MS.Ed. in Museum Studies and Childhood Education from Bank Street Graduate School of Education; I received my MFA from Columbia University.
I have taught at The American International School in Cape Town; primary and middle schools in Masaka Town, Mikomogo Village, and Namirembe on Lake Victoria in Uganda; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; The Dalton School, The Museum Magnet School (PS191), Maure Magnet School (PS55A), and MEGA Academy.
In addition to being an educator, I am a writer and a performer. My one-woman show, HOPE, was produced Off-Broadway at the Wild Project (2018); and I have written an award-winning episodic web series.

I have been working with students on their essay and interview skills for both colleges and graduate schools, for 10 years. Students I have worked with have gotten into a wide range of schools, from smaller private colleges to the Ivy League.
